It’s Senior Sunday

This is Hunny Bunny. She was the first cat we pulled from the Albuquerque Animal Shelter in 2013 when we first became a charity.

The shelter said she was 11 years old and very shy and wasn’t doing well in the shelter. We immediately pulled her.
Our vet said she was only 3 years old, but she was very shy and it took her a while to come out of her shell.

You might be wondering why we didn’t put her up for adoption. Well, Hunny Bunny has a special talent. She is the welcoming committee at Hannah’s House (a committee of one). She welcomes all the new cats and helps them to settle in and become comfortable. We jokingly say she sleeps with all the new cats. 😂

You can often find Hunny Bunny grooming the new cats and hanging out with them.
When we take in scared cats who are sometimes shut down, it helps to have another cat who will watch over them. That is Hunny Bunny’s job so she will live at Hannah’s House the rest of her life.

Hunny Bunny plays an important role with the rescue. She is now 13 years old and very healthy. We just hope she doesn’t plan on retiring any time soon!!
